the fab paradox

 

now I never really care much for the Beatles not so much in either (whatever that means) but in any way. Never really heard all that much of them. To add insult to injury, never really cared all that much for the Stones either. Maybe it was a time thing as I was so tiny when they started, it really had no relevance in my life. I didn't grow up in that time so they had no relevance in my time. The further dilemma was my relatives, also couldn't give a toss either way. Actually, its got me stuffed what it was -  but it wasn't us. Maybe it was personalities, maybe it was palette.

so I got to thinking and listened to the entire back catalog - from start to finish. Now I can note a certain development, especially from the early years but one further paradox floored me. They came across like they were only getting started, even when they broke up. Maybe all the exposure and adoration was an impediment to their development. 

not everything but some solo material was far more polished and slick than them in their heyday - and intricate.

the greatest dilemma in my mind is Photograph, written by George and Ringo but with Ringo on vocals. It has such a greater resonance now that George has gone.

from now on I will think about the parts rather than the sum total.

except for Paul. Really don't care for that since before Wings.
