I knew this was going to happen.

 

so I am at the local IGA supermarket and a controversial brand of cheese I have discussed in the past is no longer there. You know the one; derivation of a German surname, people were so offended they went all the way to the human rights commission. I can't vouch for every supermarket but it definitely ain't here - hasn't been for some time.

and thus the dilemma like I knew it was going to happen. Because they removed the brand for so long and didn't rectify the situation by giving the brand name something more politically correct - it happened. Now I had no influence over what I would describe as this incident, but simply put, people are creatures of habit. How are they not?

this woman comes to the counter after going to the cheeses aisle. She wasn't loud or sounding deliberate, but then came the request - 

"Do you have any of that cheese that used to be called Coon?"

the damage has been done as a result of the name not being corrected in a decent amount of time.

and thus from now on, to add insult to injury, this is how it will be known.
