that smell again. The breeze was heading in a certain direction and I will never forget it, sort of like a cross between the smell of a chemist and Shellite. Many years ago I lived around the corner from a work mate and for about a month he would come up to me the next day and ask, " Did you smell that?", to which the reply was I always did. Then a few weeks later there was a raid on a drug lab in his street and they got a massive haul.
here's the thing; drug labs stink. They really stink.
so recently when the breeze heads in a certain direction I smell that smell again. You would think that they would have a machine to detect the manufacture of drugs or even precursor chemicals for and in the process of manufacture. There is a digital "nose" used in modern prisons. A tube that the visitor stands in and a vacuum extracts and detects any evidence of contraband. A mobile version of that machine.
there has been countless seizures of precursor chemicals on Border Security - my favorite Sunday television fix and the manufacture smell is incredibly strong. Once you experience that odor you will never forget it.
It really does stink.
