I've more than likely to have said this before but I am always mindful of the Pete and Dud sketch-
"so you've learnt from your mistakes?"
"very much so. So much so that I can repeat them exactly"
Western Australia and panic buying. I watched the news and the coverage at a supermarket. I just knew the first place they were going to was the empty toilet paper aisle. Why toilet paper? Surely some kind of food would be of greater importance. Look at the photo above. I can see lots of water and breakfast cereals. Part of me would like to see the reporters inspect the shopping trolley contents in depth, to get some insight as to how irrational people are.
because we are not a third world country. As much as I hate to agree with our prime minister, or the vast majority of politicians for that matter, we have a shitload of food. We are positively overwhelmed with the stuff.
part of me wonders about earlier bouts of panic buying in other areas. Do people still have a glut of certain goods that they still haven't used? Does it give them a pang and force them to ask, gee, what kind of an irrational moron was I? Even at the current rate, its going to take me months to get through all this stuff.
