some habits die hard. Some habits represent a time honored tradition. So it was late the other night and I was at a certain convenience store in the area and the consumers displayed all the give away signs. The open flannel checked lumberjack shirt, metal t shirt and jeans - almost like a historic uniform. Then the products. A 2 litre bottle of coke, a packet of Tim Tams and a large bag of chips.
the late night stoner munchies run.
after bonging on through the evening, it gets to a stage about 11pm where the dedicated get the munchies. A friend of mine years ago used to work at a convenience store and was really popular. All the pot heads used to come from miles around because they were so stoned. They just dumped their money on the counter and he would count it for them. One night there was a horrible incident. There was no delivery of Tim Tams that afternoon and they were out of stock. No shortage of stressed out stoners that evening. Chocolate coated teddy bear biscuits just don't cut it.
the other night was a classic example of the munchies run. I was there barely fifteen minutes and saw so many people wearing the same clothes and buying the same food. It makes me wonder why dope is illegal at all - there certainly still is a huge market for it. Just go to your local convenience store after 11pm and see it in action.
