the final construction zone

now this is plain weird for the reason it happened so fast. Fast from the point of view that construction of Moreland station has now ended and within the space of a day every type of crane or construction related vehicle has disappeared - just like that. Must be devastating for the young posse who have admired all the cranes for so many months.

the thing that fills me with so much regret is the chats I had with many of the workers during the whole time. I have certain pangs of regret in relation to this because I hated all the trees being pulled down at the start of all this.

I can only hope that they restore the Gandolfo Gardens to some semblance of it's former glory. Those amazing trees and the large grassy area where people did so much, from sport to picnics in the shade. So much shade, from those majestic 100 year old trees. Without going into it too much, perhaps they could look into the history of the place. A local told me that once there was a permanent cricket pitch and a set of stumps on one side of the station - and put to a great deal of use at the time.

maybe after all the initial disregard they displayed they could show some degree of respect.
