yesterday was odd and pretty terrifying. I didn't have the technical facility or ability to enter a store. All because I have a dumb phone. I couldn't scan the qr code at the entrance so I couldn't go in. I said if you have a pen and paper, short of me giving you my pin number, you can have whatever information you want. Rather than apologize I was bluntly told that is not the way we do things now and if you want to shop, you have to scan.
recently I read about the future actions of the airline industry in relation to the virus. If you can't prove that you've had the vaccine - you can't fly. The problem is for me, due to medical reasons, is that I can't get the vaccine. So to add insult to injury I can envision the best way to prove you have had the vaccine would be via a qr code. As if not wearing a mask was bad, how exactly are they going to enforce this? And we haven't even got the damn vaccine yet.
I never envisioned that the respective works of Orwell and Huxley were not so much cautionary tales but instruction manuals.
