this person I know bumps into a mutual friend at Barkly Square in Brunswick. this is in the middle of the great toilet paper incident of earlier this year. people are fighting in supermarkets over it and grabbing as much of the stuff they can get their hands on.
so he is standing outside Woolworth's and the mutual friend walks out of the supermarket with a trolley. crammed with as much toilet paper he could get his hands on. then a silent stand off and the person looks at our mutual friend in disbelief.
then the discussion with no reasons or excuses proffered
"how long have we known each other?"
"I'd say about a decade"
"I really thought I knew you with all the things we have gone through together, but I never thought you even remotely had the potential to become one of THOSE type of people"
the mutual friend hung his head in shame then stood there for an uncomfortable 30 seconds, for what felt like an eternity, then rolled his trolley filled with 8 packs away.
